Interpreters Vienna

The Interpreting Agency Vienna | Connect Translations Austria GmbH specializes in consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting (conference interpreting and booth interpreting). In order to meet our clients’ high expectations, we only work with interpreters who have extensive expertise in interpreting complex material. Many of our interpreters – both simultaneous interpreters (conference interpreters) and consecutive interpreters (liaison interpreters) – are members of recognized professional organizations and are undoubtedly among the best in their field. Our interpreters’ languages include:

Not only in Vienna

As an interpreting agency, we primarily operate in the following regions: Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, Linz and Innsbruck. Thanks to our international network and our large pool of interpreters, however, we are also more than happy to assist you with events outside of Austria. For instance, we can help you find suitable interpreters for congresses, negotiations and meetings in Germany (especially in the cities of Regensburg, Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main and Hamburg), France (Lyon, Paris, Lille), Belgium (Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent, Liège) and other European countries.

Interpreting equipment / technical conference equipment

For 20 years, we have been offering professional technical support alongside our partners at international conventions, conferences, general meetings, congresses and symposiums in the area South Moravia – Lower Austria – Vienna as well as in the regions of Linz, Innsbruck, Graz and Salzburg. In addition to the latest interpreting equipment (interpreting booths, sound systems, headphones, mobile interpreting systems and tour guide system sets), you can also hire discussion equipment, projectors and other technical conference equipment from us.

Remote interpreting – interpreters at online events and video conferences

Conferences and meetings are increasingly being held online or in hybrid form. This development is not only due to Covid. It also reflects the increasingly noticeable consequences of climate change. Video conferences make a significant contribution to reducing the carbon footprint of congresses and other meetings. Remote interpreting is a climate- and resource-friendly alternative to traditional simultaneous interpreting, where interpreters work in booths at the actual location of the event. Interpreters Vienna – How much does an interpreter cost?

An essential part of the interpretation profession is the preparation prior to the upcoming interpreting assignment. Each assignment involves a specific topic, which requires extensive familiarization with the subject area. The interpreter's fee covers both the actual interpreting work as well as the preparatory work. We differentiate between half day rates (up to 4 hours) and full day rates (up to 8 hours).

For events lasting several days or events to which the interpreters have to travel specially, additional costs such as travel expenses, compensation for travel time, accommodation & board, etc. will be charged. In order to keep these costs as low as possible, we will of course try to appoint interpreters who live close to the event location — regardless of whether the planned event is taking place in Regensburg, Stuttgart, Berlin, Munich or Vienna.

For simultaneous interpreting, the interpreters always work in teams of two. The interpreters take turns every 30 minutes in order to ensure that they can deliver high-quality interpreting. This also applies for chuchotage (whispered interpreting), which is a special type of simultaneous interpretation.

Interpreters in the pharmaceutical sector

The South Korean authority responsible for drug approval, MFDS (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety), regularly carries out inspections in European pharmaceutical companies. The Korean  German / Englisch interpreters that our interpreting agency works with have excellent pharmaceutical specialist knowledge, many years of experience and chemical and medical-technical expertise. This guarantees a smooth completion of the strict quality tests by the inspection authority, also from a linguistic point of view.
