Data Privacy Declaration

Thank you very much for your interest in our website and our company.

Compliance with the applicable legal provisions on data privacy regarding personal details is a matter of course for us. Therefore, we process your data exclusively on the basis of statutory provisions (GDPR, Telecommunications Act 2003). The following data privacy declaration shall provide information on which types of data are collected in the context of this website, how and for what purpose this data is used and how Connect Translations Austria GmbH protects your personal data.

1. Collection, usage and transfer of personal data

Personal data includes all information that identifies a person or makes them identifiable. This includes all data that could be used to directly or indirectly make a link with the person. This is data such as name, address, date of birth, an identification number and also characteristics that provide information about, for example, a person’s physical, economic, cultural or social identity.

Personal information shall be collected and processed on our website only if you have actively entered this information, e.g. when registering for myConnect or when using one of the contact forms that can be found on the website.

Personal data provided by you will be used only within our company to answer your questions, to conclude contracts, to manage quotes or to carry out an order, as well as for technical management.

This data shall not be transferred to third parties without your express consent unless this is required to implement a contract or we are legally required to do so.

All persons who come into contact with your data are obligated to comply with statutory data privacy provisions. The right to statistical evaluation of anonymised data sets remains. In this case, tracing and classifying a specific person at reasonable expense is not possible.

2. Logging

Communication or use-related information:
Each time our servers are accessed, data such as IP addresses and date and time of the page visits shall be stored for statistical and security purposes.
Statistical analysis of anonymised data sets is carried out in order to analyse and improve our offer.
There is no use related to the individual. In the event of serious violations of our terms of use and unauthorised access or attempts to access our servers, we reserve the right to derive personal data by using individual data sets.
Automatically collected non-personal data:
If you access our website, occasionally information will be automatically collected (i.e. not via registration) that is not attached to a particular person (e.g. internet browser and operating system used, domain name of the website from which the user came, number of visits, average time of stay, pages called up). We use this information to determine how attractive our website is and improve its performance and content.

3. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your end device with the help of the browser. They do not do any harm.

Cookies help us to identify which pages of our website are called up. This information allows us to improve our products and services and adapt our website to the requirements of our customers. The data collected by us in this way shall be used exclusively in anonymised form for internal statistics.

Some cookies stay stored on your end device until you delete them. They allow us to recognise your browser on your next visit. If you do not want this, you can set up your browser so that your consent must be obtained before the use of cookies or that the use of cookies in general is blocked. Deactivating cookies may limit the functionality of our website.

4. Security

State-of-the-art encryption and restricted access offer the best protection against unauthorised access to transferred or stored data. Connect Translations Austria GmbH meets all the required technical and organisational security measures to protect confidential data, in addition to your personal information, from loss or misuse.

We point out that internet data transfers (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) can have gaps in security. Complete data protection against third-party access is not possible.

For reasons of security and protecting transfers of confidential content, such as enquiries that you send us as the website operator, this website uses an SSL encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection in that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://” and from the lock symbol in your browser line. If the SSL encryption is activated, the data that you send to us cannot be read by third parties.

5. Right to disclosure, rectification and deletion

You have the right to know which personal information has been collected. You can contact our data information office by e-mail at office@connect-translations.at or by post at: Connect Translations Austria GmbH – Data information office, Penzinger Straße 127/8, 1140 Vienna or by phone on 0043 1 894 89 73 11. At your written request, we will provide information on the data stored about you, correct inaccurate information or delete your information according to your wishes. You have the right to withdraw consent to data processing and use at any time, with effect for the future. To do this, please send us an e-mail with your address, date of birth and your e-mail address. We will then delete your data immediately and completely, insofar as there is no statutory storage obligation.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates a data protection law, or that your right to data privacy has been otherwise violated, you can submit a formal complaint to the supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Austrian Data Protection Authority.

We work with various social networks. When using these services, your browser is automatically connected with the relevant network. It communicates your IP address and also other information, like cookies, if you have already visited the platform concerned before. Where possible, we avoid this type of data transfer until you actually interact with one of the platforms. By clicking on the relevant symbol (e.g. the Facebook logo), you indicate that you are willing to communicate with the selected platform and that information about you, such as your IP address, will be transferred to this social network.

This is how Facebook receives the information that you visited our site with your IP address.

If you click on the Facebook “Like” button while logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our pages to your Facebook profile. In this way, Facebook can match the visit to our pages with your user account. More information on this can be found in Facebook’s data privacy policy at:

If you click on the XING button while logged into your XING account, you can link the content of our pages to your XING profile. In this way, XING can match the visit to our pages with your user account.

More information on this can be found in Twitter’s data privacy policy at: https://twitter.com/en/privacy. YouTube

The integrated videos store cookies on the user’s computers when the website is called up. Those who have deactivated the storage of cookies for the Google advertising programme should not expect any such cookies when calling up YouTube videos. However, YouTube files non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you would like to prevent this, you must block it in your browser.

LinkedIn

Our website uses functions of the social media network LinkedIn. The provider is the LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Every time one of our websites that contains a LinkedIn function is called up, this creates a connection to LinkedIn’s servers. LinkedIn will be informed that you visited our websites from your IP address. If you click on the LinkedIn buttons while logged into your LinkedIn account, LinkedIn can then match your visit to our websites to you and your user account. We would like to point out that, as providers of the website, we do not receive any knowledge of the content of this transferred data or its use by LinkedIn. 8. Google Maps

This website uses Google Maps to display map information. When using Google Maps, Google will also collect, process and use data about the use of the Maps function by visitors to the website. More detailed information about Google’s data processing can be found in their privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-GB&gl=at. You can also change your settings in the data privacy centre so that you can manage and protect your data.

9. Data privacy declaration for the use of Google Analytics

This website uses functions by the internet analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses cookies. These are text files that are stored on your end device and allow your use of the website to be analysed. The information generated by the cookies about your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States. More information on Google Analytics’ use of user data can be found in Google’s data privacy declaration: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en

IP anonymisation is used on this website. Your IP address will be abbreviated within Member States of the EU and the European Economic Area beforehand. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. This abbreviation removes the personalised aspect from your IP address.

Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the site, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services relating to the use of the website and of the Internet. The IP address transferred from your browser by Google Analytics will not be merged with other data belonging to Google.

We have concluded a contract with Google on order data processing and fully implement the stringent requirements of the German data protection authority when using Google Analytics.

You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings accordingly; however, we would point out that in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website. Furthermore, you can prevent the collection of the data produced by cookies and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and processing by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available via the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

Alternatively, you can prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link: deactivate Google Analytics. Download an “opt-out cookie” by clicking on the link above. Your browser must also generally allow the storage of cookies. Delete your cookies on a regular basis. In addition, you must click on the link again with every visit to the website if you want to prevent your data from being collected.

10. Data privacy declaration for cross-device remarketing

Our website uses the Google Analytics Remarketing functions in connection with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Using Google Analytics Remarketing, this function makes it possible to link the advertising target groups created with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. This means that personalised advertising messages based on your interests and that have been adapted to you depending on your previous usage and surfing behaviour on an end device (e.g. mobile phone) can be shown on another of your end devices (e.g. tablet or PC).

If you have given consent accordingly, Google can link your web and app trends with your Google account for this purpose. As such, you can log in to your Google account on any end device, showing the same personalised advertisements.

To support this function, Google Analytics collects users’ Google-authenticated IDs, which are temporarily linked with our Google Analytics data, to define and create target groups for cross-device advertising.

You can refuse cross-device remarketing/targeting permanently by deactivating personalised advertisements on your Google account; follow this link to do so: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/

More information and data privacy provisions can be found in Google’s data privacy policy at: http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/.

This data enables us to recognise the reading habits of our users and to adapt our contents accordingly or to send different contents in line with the interests of our users.
